I have a 1980 Express Cruiser Sea Ray SRV225. It is powered by one 224hp Mercruiser. The engine starts and runs great all day. The problem is, if the trailer or dock. If you turn back on us a couple of times in a row, while at home. The engine is hard to close and restart. Looking for any input.

It could be as simple as the safety switch requires a neutral detergent. (or substitute)
